Focus: Secure at least 60% aggregate in PCM and prepare for the IMU CET entrance exam.
Undergraduate
Enroll in a DG Shipping approved college for B.Sc Nautical Science, B.Tech Marine Engineering, or a one-year Diploma in Nautical Science (DNS).
Focus: Clear the IMU CET exam and maintain a high academic record to secure campus placements for cadetship.
Cadetship
Join a vessel as a Deck or Engine Cadet to complete the mandatory sea-time requirement under the guidance of senior officers.
Focus: Complete the onboard training record book and prepare for the DG Shipping Certificate of Competency (CoC) examinations.
Entry & licensing
Pass the oral and written competency examinations conducted by the Directorate General of Shipping to obtain your professional license.
